Rotterdam Rail Feeding
In April 2008, Rotterdam Rail Feeding (RRF) was sold to US company Genesee & Wyoming Inc. RRF is located in Rotterdam's harbor area and is a provider of short-distance rail transports and train switching services. RRF has a fleet of 12 locomotives and 35 staff members. In 2007 the company won the Rotterdam Entrepreneurs Award (Rotterdamse Ondernemersprijs). Founder Karel Poiesz stayed on to manage the company following the acquisition, with the support of his management team.
“Two years ago my account manager at the time at Rabobank Zwijndrecht, Hendrik Ido Ambacht, recommended that I meet with Rembrandt F&O about a possible sale of RRF. My first conversation was with Paul van Logtestijn and Monique Dullens. It went very well and I had a positive feeling about it. When Genesee & Wyoming Inc. came onto the scene in October 2007 I immediately involved Paul and Monique. They got the process on track during the first meeting at the offices of Rembrandt F&O. In half a year the deal was done. My choice for Rembrandt F&O stemmed from the fact that Paul and Monique came across as flexible and reliable advisors. They are flexible in terms of time even beyond normal working hours and they are honest in telling you what the possibilities are. During negotiations they show their expertise and potential problems are quickly recognized and professionally resolved. That gives you as the seller piece of mind and confidence that you made the right choices. They were my guiding light throughout the process and did everything they could to conclude the deal in the allotted time. This allowed me, as the seller, to attend to my business in a stress-free manner.
If you are an owner manager with plans to sell your business, I would certainly recommend talking to Rembrandt F&O. It is always good to know more about the value of your business. Listen to their advice and follow your heart - the rest will fall into place.“
