Machinefabriek Van Kessel
"I founded Machinefabriek Van Kessel in 1985 together with my brother and have been the company's sole owner since 1997. We manufacture high-quality mechanical components made of steel, copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, tool steel and plastic (both individual pieces as well as large series). The products are sold to a varied customer base: the machinery and equipment construction sector as well as the electronics, chemical, graphics, pharmaceutical and food industries.
Because we are a very flexible company with 25 employees, personal load and work pressure can be very high. This is why, at 49 years of age, I chose to offer the company to the company's manager. My wish was to stay with the company for another four years in order to gradually cut back on my hours and have more free time and to guarantee continuity for the staff and customers.
First I considered to ask my accountant to lead the process, but I got the impression that he was not the right specialist for the sale of a company of our scope. This same accountant then referred me to Duncan Eduard of Rembrandt F&O, whose approach was good and clear from the very beginning. Duncan knew how to correctly assess the company and made a very convincing presentation to the buyer with a good explanation and foundation for the asking price. He also introduced structure to the process and kept deadlines short. I enjoyed the many contact moments and the good interim deliberations.
Looking back I am convinced that I would not have been able to close this deal without Duncan - now my objectives have all been achieved. In short, it was a resounding success."
