“Since the founding of Björn Borg I have been very involved in the brand and in the business. As a division of Vilenzo we were increasingly being confronted with Vilenzo's financial problems. Slowly but surely I began pondering the idea of a possible management buy-out.
I began to think how I could best approach the process. I first asked a former board member for advice. Unfortunately, this did not go well because our interests were not in agreement. Then I had an initial discussion with the local Rabobank about the feasibility of the transaction. The bank put us into contact with Rembrandt F&O.
Paul van Logtestijn came across as very competent and reliable, which is why we threw in our lot with Rembrandt F&O. Due to all sorts of circumstances the process was long and drawn-out but Rembrandt and I never lost faith that things would turn out well. Everyone involved, including the lawyer and the accountant, supported us through thick and thin and assisted us in this process very competently.
The buy-out was finally concluded and proved to be very successful. If we are ever again involved in an acquisition we will certainly call upon Rembrandt F&O again.“
